Job Description

Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in communication disorders; academic advising of undergraduate and graduate students; supervising graduate students in clinical practicum; assisting in coordination of clinical assignments; researching in communication disorders leading to publication and presentations; service to college and university through various committee assignments.

Necessary Qualifications

Applicants must have completed an earned doctoral degree in communication sciences and disorders or be currently enrolled in a doctoral program with completion within two years from date of hire.

Applicants must hold or are capable of receiving Texas state licensure authorizing practice in speech-language-pathology; and hold Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Must have two to three years of clinical experience as a speech-language pathologist (SLP).

Applicants must possess demonstrated ability to: teach effectively in the classroom; supervise in clinical practicum; and model positive, supportive professional behavior in and out of the classroom.

Preferred Qualifications

An applicant with three or more years of experience in supervision in clinical speech-language pathology is preferred.
