Job Description

Serve as a receptionist, answering multiline telephone calls, dispensing information regarding teacher certification, course rotation and petitions. Make appointments for academic advisors. Verify student ability to take professional development courses and/or student teach. Prepare paperwork for the payment of University field supervisors of student teachers. Verify information and certify undergrad students through Texas Education Agency/State Board of Educator Certification. Compile databases of undergraduate information for state and federal reports pertaining to certification and teacher education program participation. Supervise student workers.

Work performed:
Greet students and direct them to appropriate advisor/office. Verification of student requests for course petitions and student teaching. Verification of student certification through TEA/SBEC. Supervise student workers and prepare appropriate paperwork for University field supervisors. Other duties as assigned.

Necessary Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience. Four years of related experience. Computer literate, working knowledge of Word, Access and Excel. Performs administrative tasks that are secretarial/clerical in nature.
